Collection: Joan Hernandez Pijuan

Joan Hernandez Pijuan (1931-2005) was a Catalan painter who was associated with the Noucentisme movement. He was born in Barcelona and studied at the city's Llotja School of Art. After winning a scholarship to study in Rome, he developed a distinctive style that combines classical and modern influences. His work is characterized by its use of light and shade, as well as its elegant lines and compositions. Pijuan's work is represented in many major museums and galleries, including the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya and the Museo del Prado. He died in 2005 in Barcelona.
