Collection: Joan Miro Wall Art

Joan Miro was a Spanish painter, sculptor, and ceramicist who was born in Barcelona on April 20, 1893. He first studied at the Escola del Treball before moving to Paris in 1919. There, he was exposed to the works of Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, and Kurt Schwitters, all of which had a profound impact on his own art. In 1924, Miro had his first solo exhibition at the Galerie Pierre Loeb, and he quickly gained critical acclaim for his Surrealist paintings. Throughout his career, Miro experimented with a variety of different styles and media, but he always remained true to his roots in Catalan culture. He died in Mallorca on December 25, 1983.
